THE CITY OF TYLER FIRE DEPARTAMENT

The city of tyler fire departament: Will start handing out application on November 13th for the test which will be held in mid December. They are planning to hire 14-15 firefighters off of this list. Tyler is a fast growing east Texas town of about 100,000 people...they will be opening Station # 10 with the personnel hired from this list. Next year they will be hiring alot, as well, to cover the placements of double companies at a few ststions....so the hiring outlook looks pretty darn good. Two good reasons to choose them:

1. They only require the ECA level medical certification (WOW) and do not run an ambulance service.

2. They will pay for the fire acacdemy and medical certification once hired. (Kilgore Fire Academy).

3. It's not that far of a commute from DFW.....I did it for a number of years.
