Benefits of Membership

The greatest benefit of membership is the self-satisfaction of belonging to an organization of like-minded individuals who share a common work experience. Our members not only choose to help one another, but they are committed to helping communities throughout the nation and Latin America. Membership is open to all professional and volunteer firefighters who share the common goals of the association.

The following is a partial list of membership opportunities offered by our association:
  • Support an independent voice for Hispanic firefighters in the national and international fire service.

  • Become informed on current fire service issues that affect you and the communities we serve.

  • Develop and disseminate public education programs that help reduce the high rates of death from unintentional fire in Hispanic neighborhoods.

  • Develop your self as a member or a leader within the association and within the fire service.

  • Help attract and retain new entrants in the fire service, and participate in career development training and activities.

  • Belong to an association that welcomes family involvement.

  • Support and participate in improving the quality of fire protection in the Latino family of nations while helping to export American manufactured equipment and technology.

  • Become part of a lifelong network of friends and colleagues you can enjoy even through retirement.
Current dues are only $30.00 dollars per year (Payable annually).

Establishing a New Chapter

Establishing a new NAHF chapter requires at least 10 full-time firefighters. The chapter can be made of just one major city or by combining several surrounding cities. Some states like Texas have many small cities which have joined forces and have established a state chapter. Any chapter with at least 10 members has one vote at the NAHF Conventions. There is an established scale of votes for chapters above 25 members, as stated in the NAHF Constitution. There is a one-time $50.00 fee for each new chapter, $30.00 for the first ten members and $24.00 for each member after the first ten, due by March 31 of each calendar year.
