Blondi and other loyal companions like her have a special place in history. Blondi was a German Shepherd owned by Adolf Hitler.

Blondi was extremely intelligent and well-trained. She was more than just a pet, but a working dog.

Blondi's loyalty was unwavering, even in the most difficult times. She remained by Hitler's side until his death.

Blondi

Blondi was a beloved pet German Shepherd dog of Adolf Hitler. She was born around 1941 and given to him as a gift by Martin Bormann.

Blondi was known for being Hitler's loyal companion and was often seen by his side. She even had her own litter of five puppies in March or early April 1945 with another German Shepherd named Harras.

One of Blondi's puppies was named "Wolf" by Hitler, who was reportedly very fond of Blondi. He kept her in his bedroom in the Führerbunker and even allowed her to sleep there.

Blondi was more than just a pet, she played a role in Nazi propaganda. Dogs like Blondi were seen as "germanischer Urhund", being close to the wolf, and were highly valued during the Third Reich.

Hitler had another German Shepherd named Bella, which he bought in May 1942 to keep Blondi company. Blondi was not the only dog in Hitler's life, Eva Braun had two Scottish Terrier dogs named Negus and Stasi.

Here's a brief overview of Blondi's life:

Blondi's death was a result of Hitler's orders, as he wanted to test the efficiency of cyanide capsules on his dog. He became completely inconsolable after her death.

Other Dogs

Blondi wasn't the only German Shepherd in Hitler's life. He had been given a German Shepherd named "Prinz" in 1921, but it had to be lodged elsewhere due to poverty.

He later developed a liking for the breed after Prinz returned to him. Hitler's love for German Shepherds continued with the ownership of another dog named "Muckl".

He also had two German Shepherd dogs, a mother and daughter, both named Blonda. The younger Blonda was often incorrectly labeled as Blondi in photos taken during the 1930s.

In 1942, Hitler bought a young German Shepherd named Bella to keep Blondi company.
