Emerald Downs Hosts Exciting Wiener Dog Races

Every year, Emerald Downs in Auburn, Washington, transforms into a lively and entertaining venue for a unique event - the Wiener Dog Races. This fun-filled spectacle brings together dog owners and racing enthusiasts alike.

A total of 24 dachshunds will participate in the event, including two returning champions from last year, Otto and Maxx Throttle. The top six from each of the two qualifying heats will advance to the final race.

The fun-filled day includes free face painting, inflatable rides, pony rides, and live Thoroughbred racing. It's a great way to spend a sunny afternoon with the kids.

Anderson Pooper, a special Dachshund, stole the show at the Star 101.5FM 18th Annual Wiener Dog races at Emerald Downs. She participated in the event despite having disabilities, and her determination and spirit won over the crowd.

Anderson's spiffy wheelchair allowed her to navigate the course, and she took on the challenge with her own unique style. The crowd cheered her on as she crossed the finish line with a big smile on her face.

The enthusiastic crowd was visibly moved by Anderson's winning attitude every time she participates in a race. She may have rolled in last, but she was first in the hearts of the fans.

Anderson's dad, David Sizer, even filmed her point-of-view of the race with a GoPro, giving everyone a glimpse into her exciting experience.

The 2013 Vienna Dog Races were a highlight of the summer. They took place on Sunday, July 14th at Emerald Downs Track in Auburn, WA.

Only purebred dachshunds were eligible to enter the race. The event was a family-friendly atmosphere with lots of laughs.

The regular horse races occurred, with the wiener dog heats in between. The ultimate wiener dog trophy was up for grabs.

There were usually two preliminary wiener dog races, with a final deciding the top dog.
