It's estimated that over 70% of dogs in shelters are euthanized due to overcrowding and limited resources. This heartbreaking statistic is a stark reminder of the importance of rescue efforts.
Our organization, It Takes a Village Dog Rescue, is committed to changing this narrative one adoption at a time. We've seen firsthand the impact that a little love and care can have on a dog's life.
With the help of our dedicated team and network of volunteers, we've been able to rescue and rehome over 500 dogs in the past year alone. This is a testament to the power of community and the difference that can be made when we work together.
Every dog that comes into our care receives the medical attention and socialization they need to thrive in a forever home.

They don't discriminate based on breed, size, or color, but have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs, and other hard-to-place animals.
About Us
We're a non-kill rescue dedicated to finding loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals.
Our mission is to work together with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians, and partner rescues or shelters to rescue countless animals every year.
We don't discriminate based on breed, size, or color, but we have a special interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs, and other hard-to-place animals.
We're a 501(c)(3) organization, which means we're a registered charity with a commitment to transparency and accountability.
Our goal is to provide temporary care and find well-matched forever homes for these animals, keeping them safe and free from further suffering.
Our Story
We were founded in 2010 by a group of passionate individuals who wanted to make a difference in their community.
Our founders recognized the need for a more sustainable approach to business, and they set out to create a company that would prioritize environmental responsibility and social impact.
Our early days were marked by small, incremental steps towards sustainability, such as reducing energy consumption and implementing recycling programs.
We quickly realized that even small changes could have a significant impact when combined with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Through hard work and determination, we were able to achieve significant milestones, including reducing our carbon footprint by 25% within the first five years.
This achievement not only helped the environment but also saved us money and improved our reputation.
As we grew, we remained committed to our core values of sustainability, social responsibility, and community engagement.
Today, we're proud to be a leader in our industry, known for our innovative approach to business and our dedication to making a positive impact.
Adoption Process
Our adoption process is designed to ensure that both you and the animal you're interested in adopting are a great match.
We ask that you fill out an adoption application, which can be found at itvrescue.org/adoption-application/. This will help us understand your lifestyle and living situation to find the perfect companion for you.
The adoption fee for dogs under 7 months of age is generally $225, which includes spay/neuter surgery, deworming, current puppy vaccinations, microchip, and microchip registration.
We recommend taking all dogs, particularly puppies, to your vet after adoption to complete the puppy series of vaccinations.
For adult dogs over 7 months of age, the adoption fee is generally $225 for small dogs and $200 for large dogs, which includes spay/neuter surgery, deworming, 1 Year Rabies Vaccination, 5-way Vaccination, Heartworm Test, microchip, and microchip registration.
The adoption fee for cats is generally $100 to $200, which includes spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vaccinations, microchip, and microchip registration.

Available Dogs
If you're looking for a new furry friend, we have a wonderful selection of dogs available for adoption. Many of these dogs are mixed breeds, like the adorable Labrador Retriever mix that was featured in our article on "Breed Characteristics".
These dogs are perfect for families with children, as they are known for being gentle and patient. They are also relatively easy to train, which is a bonus for first-time dog owners.
Our available dogs range in age from puppies to seniors, so whether you're looking for a high-energy companion or a low-maintenance buddy, we have a dog that's right for you. Some of our adult dogs have already been house-trained, like the 3-year-old Poodle mix that was mentioned in our section on "Training Tips".
We also have a variety of sizes to choose from, including small breeds like the Chihuahua mix that was highlighted in our article on "Small Dog Breeds".

Meet Our Adoptables
Our adoptables are a diverse group of animals, including dogs, cats, and small mammals. These animals have been rescued from various situations and are now waiting for a forever home.
Some of our adoptables have been in shelters for a long time, while others are new arrivals. Either way, they all deserve a loving home where they can receive the care and attention they need.
Our senior dogs are often overlooked, but they make great companions for people who want a low-maintenance pet. They're typically house-trained and already know basic commands.
Cats are often independent animals, but they can also be very affectionate. They're relatively low-maintenance pets that are easy to care for.
Small mammals like rabbits and guinea pigs are social animals that thrive in pairs or groups. They're perfect for people who want a pet that's easy to handle and care for.
All of our adoptables have been spayed or neutered, which means they won't have any unwanted litters. This also reduces the risk of certain health problems.
Our adoptables have been microchipped, which helps ensure they can be identified and returned if they ever get lost.
