Pet Angels Rescue Adoption Center has made significant strides in improving animal welfare. Their dedication to providing a safe and nurturing environment for animals in need has been a game-changer.
The center's adoption process is designed to match animals with the right owners, resulting in a 95% success rate of happy adoptions. This is a testament to the center's commitment to finding forever homes for their furry friends.
One of the key factors contributing to the center's success is their emphasis on rehabilitation and socialization of rescued animals. This includes providing medical care, training, and behavioral support to help animals overcome their past traumas.
The center's efforts have not gone unnoticed, with a 500% increase in adoptions over the past year. This is a remarkable achievement that speaks to the hard work and dedication of the Pet Angels Rescue team.
Adoption Process
Pet Angels Rescue takes the time to match each pet with the right family, giving them the best chance at a forever home.
The adoption center is designed to bring animals and qualified adoption applicants together, thanks to a state-of-the-art facility that was funded by a collective group of supporters from the local community.
Pet Angels doesn't operate on a quota system, adopting as many animals as possible, but instead focuses on finding the perfect match between pet and family.
The shelter doesn't pull animals primarily from the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter, unlike the only other shelter operating an adoption center in central Oklahoma.
Our Impact
We're making a difference in the lives of rural animals. Pet Angels Rescue focuses on rescuing animals from Oklahoma's rural shelters with high kill rates, where they're often held less than 48 hours before being destroyed.
Pet Angels is helping animals in need by providing medical and behavioral care that other organizations might pass on. They're specifically targeting animals with health issues, giving them a second chance at a forever home.
Since opening our Adoption Center in June 2017, we've been able to measure our results and see the impact we're making. The Post Adoption Contact Program started in June 2017, allowing us to track the success of our adoptions and make improvements to our services.
Rural Animal Rescue
Pet Angels primarily focuses on the overlooked animals picked up and held in Oklahoma's rural shelters with high kill rates.
These shelters have little to no funding for animal welfare or sheltering, which is why Pet Angels is so crucial in their efforts to rescue, rehabilitate, and find forever homes for these abandoned or neglected animals.
Animals in rural shelters are typically held less than forty-eight hours before being destroyed, making every minute count for Pet Angels and their team.
By rescuing animals from approximately thirty rural communities, Pet Angels is making a significant impact in the lives of these animals and the communities they serve.
Our Results
Our Impact is most evident in the numbers. We opened a new Adoption Center in June 2017, which significantly affected our intake and allowed us to better manage our day-to-day operations.
In just a few years, social media has been instrumental in increasing the number of adoptions and reducing the average length of stay in our rescue. This is a remarkable achievement, especially considering the challenges we faced when first opening our Adoption Center.
Pet Angels believes that no healthy or otherwise treatable animal should be euthanized when alternatives exist to save and find a loving home. Our Live Release Rate is a staggering 97.89%, a testament to our commitment to giving every animal a second chance.
We've also made significant strides in rehabilitating animals in need of medical and behavioral care. By focusing on these specific cases, we've been able to make a real difference in the lives of animals that other organizations may have overlooked.
Organization
At Pet Angels Rescue Adoption Center, organization is key to ensuring the well-being of our furry friends. Our team works tirelessly to maintain a clean and comfortable environment.
We have a dedicated team of volunteers who help with daily tasks such as cleaning, feeding, and socializing with the animals. This not only keeps the center clean but also helps the animals feel more at ease.
Our adoption process is streamlined to make it easy for potential adopters to find their perfect match. We have a thorough screening process to ensure that our animals are going to loving homes.
Key Strategies for Implementation

Networking and partnering with all animal rescue organizations is key to saving more lives. This is evident in Pet Angels' membership in the Oklahoma Rescue Network (ORN), which comprises over one hundred animal rescue organizations.
The ORN's secure communication system is a contact hub for animal rescuers, allowing them to work together to assist in critical and time-sensitive rescue cases. This includes posting animals that need to be immediately pulled from overcrowded rural shelters.
Pet Angels' mission is to impact rural shelters across Oklahoma to reduce the overall state euthanasia rate and to become a NO KILL STATE BY 2025! To achieve this, they pull hundreds of animals from rural kill shelters and transport them into their NO KILL shelter.
What Are the Organization's Key Capabilities?
Pet Angels has made significant strides in reducing the state euthanasia rate in Oklahoma by pulling animals from rural shelters. They pulled animals from 28 rural shelters in 2016 and 44 rural shelters in 2017.

Their mission is to impact rural shelters across the state by utilizing a team of compassionate volunteers to pull and transport animals to their NO KILL rescue and adoption center.
Pet Angels operates a state-of-the-art adoption center designed to bring animals and qualified adoption applicants together, with a capacity to care for 175 dogs and cats. The adoption center has been in operation since June 2017.
Over 400 adoptions have been completed since the adoption center opened, with a total of 458 dogs and cats receiving spay/neuter, microchipping, vaccinations, and medical and behavioral care since June 2017.
Accomplishments and Future
At Pet Angels Rescue Adoption Center, we're proud of what we've accomplished so far. We're on track to help save the lives of more than 700 pets from rural Oklahoma shelters.
Pet Angels will facilitate approximately 750+ adoptions by the end of 2018, giving these deserving animals a second chance at a happy life. This is a significant milestone for our organization.
The extended benefit of spaying and neutering all of Pet Angels shelter animals will benefit all of Oklahoma by decreasing the number of offspring. This is a crucial step in preventing pet overpopulation.
Most of the rescued animals have experienced a very difficult life, but our goal is to significantly improve their current and future lives. We believe that every animal deserves a loving home and proper care.
The many rural shelters throughout Oklahoma will also benefit from our efforts. They have no resources to hold, treat, and adopt these animals, so we're helping to alleviate some of that burden.
