The Scout Dog Park has undergone significant expansions in recent years, providing dog owners with more space for their pets to run and play. One of the main expansions was the addition of a new off-leash area.

This new area is specifically designed for dogs of all sizes and breeds, with separate sections for large and small dogs to ensure everyone's safety.

The park's expansions have also included the installation of new agility equipment, such as tunnels, jumps, and weave poles.

These additions have made the Scout Dog Park a go-to destination for dog owners and their pets, offering a fun and active way to spend time together.

New Dog Parks

August Tabacheck, a 17-year-old Eagle Scout, opened the Daniel R. Tabacheck Memorial Dog Park at Agan Park in Springdale Township.

The dog park is a 50-yard by 50-yard fenced area where dogs can socialize, climb, and roam freely. It has a double gate for orderly entry and exit.

Residents are thrilled to have a dog park in their community, with one resident saying it will be great for her dog to learn how to socialize. Another resident moved from Maryland to Springdale and was used to having a dog park nearby, and is excited to have this new option.

August's project took 1,000 hours to complete, with friends, family, and community members contributing 10 hours a day for a month.

Cheswick Eagle Opens Park in Agan

August's project, the Daniel R. Tabacheck Memorial Dog Park, is a 50-yard by 50-yard fenced area where dogs can socialize, climb, and roam freely.

The park features a double gate for orderly entry and exit.

August's motivation for the project came from a conversation with his dad in 2017.

The project took 1,000 hours to complete, with friends, family, and community members dedicating 10 hours a day for a month.

A GoFundMe was set up to help pay for materials, raising over $5,000, including donations from the Springdale Energy power plant and small businesses.

The Agan Park Committee will maintain the park, but August will step in and help when necessary.

August's mom, Colleen, was proud of his motivation to create something for his dad.

The addition of the dog park is a relief for dog owners who had nowhere close to give their pets some playtime.
