Snowy's Military Service
Snowy was born on 2 March 2004 at the Commando Regiment Headquarters in Ganemulla. He began training in September of that year under handler Lance corporal D.H.P. Sampath, with the supervision of Captain (armed forces) Vimukthi Jayasinghe.
Snowy's first deployment was to the Jaffna peninsula in 2004. He was just a few months old at the time. He quickly proved himself to be a valuable asset to the team.
In 2006, Snowy was credited with discovering a hidden ammunition dump in Neduntheevu. He also found an LTTE safehouse and weapons cache at the University of Jaffna. His keen sense of smell and agility made him an ideal candidate for reconnaissance missions.
Snowy assisted commandos in a successful ambush at Morawewa in 2007. He was part of the Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP) units that tracked down fleeing LTTE units during the Battle of Thoppigala. His skills and bravery were instrumental in the success of these missions.
