Our Testing Process
Our Testing Process is designed to ensure you and your dog have a good relationship and that your dog has the right temperament for therapy dog work.
We involve handling your dog in our testing process, which sets us apart from other therapy dog organizations.
Our Tester/Observer (T/O) will monitor you and your dog during three supervised visits to facilities, including two medical facility visits.
During these visits, the T/O will instruct you and your dog on the art of visiting and provide advice and guidance while observing you in action.
If all goes well, the T/O will pass you and your dog, recommending you for dog certification with ATD.
Where We Work
We work in a variety of settings, including airports, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. Our teams are flexible and can provide therapy in many different locations.
We also visit rehab facilities, mental health institutions, and schools. We're not limited to just one type of setting, and we're happy to go wherever we're needed.
In addition to these locations, we also provide therapy in hospitals, cancer centers, and hospice facilities. Our teams are trained to be comfortable and confident in a wide range of environments.
We even offer the option to provide therapy in patients' homes, making it more convenient for those who need it. This flexibility is just one of the ways we strive to make therapy more accessible.
Our teams may choose to join local therapy dog groups, which can be a great way to connect with others who share our passion for therapy work. We also participate in nation-wide initiatives with organizations like the Red Cross and R.E.A.D.
