Missing Bernese Mountain Dog Rescued in Colorado Mountains

A missing Bernese Mountain Dog was rescued in the Colorado mountains after a three-day search. The dog, a 2-year-old male named Max, was found on a mountain trail in Summit County.

Max's owner had been searching for him since he went missing on a hike, but the rugged terrain and unpredictable weather made the search challenging. The search party consisted of local authorities, volunteers, and a helicopter.

The rescue team was able to locate Max by following his paw prints in the snow, which were visible due to the recent snowfall.

A helicopter rescue was conducted for a lost Bernese Mountain dog named Hurley, who was found after 15 days on the North Shore Mountains. He was spotted by a hiker near Mosquito Creek and was hoisted to safety by an aerial team from North Shore Rescue.

The rescue team flew in to retrieve Hurley, who was stuck on a 10-foot-wide ledge at 1,800 feet elevation. He was malnourished but didn't run from his rescuers, who were able to grab his leash and strap him into a harness.

Hurley was initially scared but eventually came to the men, who were able to fly him out in a harness. The rescue team took around 10 minutes to get Hurley to come to them.

A Facebook page was set up called "Bring Hurley Home" and he gained as many as 5,000 friends. The community came together to search for Hurley, with hundreds of people participating and even off-duty police officers and firefighters joining in.

The rescue was a great example of a community coming together to help a lost pet.

The search for Max, the missing Bernese Mountain Dog, has been ongoing for several days. His owner reported him missing on Tuesday afternoon.

Max was last seen wearing a red collar with a shiny name tag. His owner described him as a 3-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog with a thick, tri-colored coat.
