Pitbull dog rescue in Oklahoma is a heartwarming story of hope and adoption. Many people in Oklahoma have fallen in love with these beautiful dogs and are working tirelessly to give them a second chance at a happy life.

Oklahoma has a high number of pitbulls in shelters, with over 10,000 pitbulls entering shelters annually. This is partly due to the state's strict breed-specific legislation.

In Oklahoma, pitbulls are often misunderstood and stigmatized, but with the help of dedicated rescue groups, they are finding forever homes. Many of these dogs are young, energetic, and loving, making them perfect companions for active families.

The Oklahoma Pitbull Rescue Coalition is a network of rescue groups and volunteers working together to save pitbulls from shelters and find them forever homes.

Adoption Process

Credit: youtube.com, I adopted pitbull no one else wanted. Here's how that went.

If you're interested in adopting a pitbull from Pit Bull Rescue Oklahoma, you'll need to read through the Breed Information on their website to determine if this breed is right for your family.

You can find the Breed Information on the Pit Bull Rescue website, at http://www.pbrc.net/breedinfo.html.

Not all of their dogs are listed on Petfinder, so if you're looking for a specific type of dog, contact them directly to inquire about dogs on their Facebook page or not listed on Petfinder.

To start the adoption process, complete the Adoption Application, which you can find on the Pit Bull Rescue Oklahoma website.

Please don't apply to adopt a dog unless you're serious about adopting - the volunteers work full-time jobs and volunteer in their free time.

You can expect to hear back from them within 48 hours of submitting your application, but it may take up to a week to complete the process.

When they contact you, they'll ask you questions from your application, so be prepared to provide more information.

They'll also make recommendations on dogs that would be a good match for your family.

A volunteer will do a home visit to ensure your home and yard are safe for one of their dogs.

Once your application is approved, they'll schedule a meet and greet where you can meet the dog(s) who match.

The final step is picking up your new family member, where you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption donation, which is $150 for dogs over 1 year old or $200 for dogs less than 1 year old and all bullies.
